Antony Smith and Legal Project Management Training
Helping you develop your legal project management capability.
I am a solicitor (England and Wales) by training with experience and post graduate qualifications in project management and software development. I am a Fellow of the International Institute of Legal Project Management (IILPM), a full member of the Association for Project Management (APM) and the Project Management Institute (PMI). I am also a Prince II Practitioner.
I have spent my entire career in the legal services industry. During that time I have applied project management to legal service practice, including for example, the management of complex international litigation, introducing technology into court rooms and helping develop and implement a wide range of process and practice improvement systems for lawyers.
Since 2012 I have run my own legal project management training and consulting company, Legal Project Management Limited, and since 2017 I have delivered training courses accredited and certified by the International Institute of Project Management (IILPM). During that time I have trained hundreds of professionals both inside and outside of the legal services industry about legal project management.
Most of my training to date has been face to face often taking place in the heart of the traditional legal world in London, at Chancery Lane. For my online training I want to replicate the parts of my face to face training which work particularly well: plenty of exercises and workshops where students can work together, lots of interaction between me and students (I encourage students to ask me questions) and plenty of material for students to read and develop their legal project management knowledge further.
Please note though that my courses are very practical. Although all my trainees receive plenty of training material, I think the best way of learning about legal project management is to experience what its like to be a legal project manager in a safe and controlled environment (i.e., my courses). We will do a lot work with reference to fictitious, but realistic, legal scenarios. You will learn how to manage legal matters effectively, from start to finish.
After completing one of my courses you will understand the key principles of legal project management, feel confident about putting them into action and become more able leading teams and driving legal project management roll-out in your organisation.
Legal project management training is for legal service professionals and professional project managers wanting to transition into legal services. Solicitors, barristers, costs lawyers, professional support lawyers, professional project managers looking to enter the legal profession and legal industry consultants wanting to improve services to their clients have all been on my courses.
With this in mind, I do hope that you sign up for one of my courses and become one of my course Alumni (I also offer free post-course advice and mentoring to my students - I want to see you succeed!).
